I am intrigued by the concept of the landscape as a portrait. I see the detritus that people leave behind as evidence of their temporal corporeality.  Normally shying away from using flash photography, I wanted to use the brash light to simulate an almost forensic investigation of that which remains.

A spirit of the times

Inflatable holiday decorations adorn the neighborhoods around my city, from Halloween to Christmas. Is there anything sadder than a deflated Santa? To me, they signify everything that is American in 2020. A brash exuberance that has at times, struggled to keep going during the past four years.
