I got the idea for this assignment from a book by J.A.P. Alexander titled Perspectives on Place . If you are interested in pursuing landscape photography, especially on a more intellectual level beyond the bucolic ideal, I strongly recommend this book. 

I view this assignment more as a prompt to move you beyond the traditional expectations of what a landscape should be. Details are on our course site.
